Community Schools

We regularly hear from community schools asking whether they are able to become part of Aquila. While the majority of our members have foundations with the Church of England, our trust has been designed so that we can welcome schools from any foundation or with none.

Our articles are similar to those written for other Church and Community school trusts in Kent so that any and all schools can benefit from our service offer and contribute to the network we have developed.

Community schools will not need to become a Church of England school to be a member of our trust. While we ensure that the foundation of our schools is preserved and maintained we would apply the same principles to schools who come without any foundation, securing their place in the community they serve.

By joining our trust you will be signing up to operate under our foundation documents including our vision and values. Our scheme of delegation has been drafted with community schools in mind and would ensure that the status that you join us with would be secured and maintained.

The school would be subject to the same central polices as other trust schools though and these will make reference to our core values, mission statements and will contain biblical references. Policies that are not managed centrally would be for the school to create however and would be nothing more than the Aquila logo.

If you would like to discuss how we might be able to benefit your school please contact us.
